(Uchi no Meido ga Uzasugiru!)
“Our Maid Is Too Annoying!”
If theres one thing you can bet on every season its that when Doga Kobo is animating a comedy you know its going to be good. Lolis? Maids? Excessive love for all things young and girly? Doesnt matter if Uchi no Maid is slightly disturbing at face value (ok, more than slightly), its Doga Kobo doing the usual, and as fully expected, its pretty damn good.
As the RC Preview helpfully indicates (because I know you read it beforehandright? Right) Uchi no Maid is a simple affair. The young, blonde, and thoroughly cyka blyat Russian Takanashi Misha (Shiraishi Haruka) is a girl in need of caretaking during the day, so dear daddy-kins decided to hire a maid. Only problem is Misha is the definition of tsundere problem child, so few maids ever took up the job permanentlyat least until Kamoi Tsubame (Numakura Manami) arrived on the scene. The other half of our duo is as crazy as synopsis makes her out to be, shes strong, ripped, and (most importantly) features a terminal lolicon mindset. Its a crazy duality but works quite well in practice, as Mishas push to dispense with Tsubame leads to some hilarious moments and the ever plentiful array of reaction faces I may or may not be having a folder specifically for (I deny everything). Given the material and Uchi no Maids comedic emphasis the risk is obviously the show devolving into pure ribald fan service, but so far at least things are adhering well to the manga. Beyond Tsubames set of magnificent abs and the usual bath scenes the series is going to remain thoroughly cutesy, and no amount of teasing is likely to change that. It just wouldnt feel right defiling the little angel now would it?
On the other side of the coin a good plus for Uchi no Maid is the shows consideration towards longevity. Comedies often suffer from running out of good or interesting material after a certain point, leading to bland humour and repetitious situations with nothing really going for them. Here, however, we can already see the hints towards Mishas backstory with her mother and how Tsubame will ultimately come to fill in the role currently lacking in Mishas life. Nothing particularly ground breaking obviouslythis is a comedy after allbut the presence of some feel good development and guarantee of more than one cute face ensures Uchi no Maid will have quite a bit of breathing room before running out of stuff to feature. Considering this episode more or less covered the only two translated chapters of the manga its anyones guess just how well the show will hold up from here on out, but given how things have played out so far I know which way Im going to bet.
Comedy, moe, and Doga Kobo doing cutesy Doga Kobo things: what more could you possibly need?

ED: (TokimekiRaikikkusu) by Misha Takanashi (Haruka Shiraishi) & Tsubame Kamoi (Manami Numakura)

A little girl trying to not be raped by a pedophile? Is this comedy?
Yep. It’s a comedy. Like multiple of the mangaka’s previous hentai works. The author has written some of the funniest lolicon hentai I’ve read. Not only that, but this author has also written some good vanilla romance stuff, again involving lolicon hentai. If you don’t like it, you’re free to leave. Not all of fiction is made to appeal to you or general audiences. Some fiction is made for an small niche, and that’s OK. Let’s not go into moral judgements, OK?
Problem is, this comedy had me in stitches!!!It’s not a perverted type of lolicon, mostly playing the fine line uponinnocence and complicity (IMHO) that is beyond “misunderstanding” but notquite “deliberate.” It’s great! Also, Misha is definitely wise beyond her years which makes things workeven better. As her mother, I’d be more worried that she draws very adultconclusions from Kamoi’s shenanigans – she plays the perfect “victim”.I don’t really expect much depth here, but it’ll definitely be a fun watchif they continue along the premise it established.
“He’s a good writer, he writes lolicon”.I see…
@Panino Word is Uchi’s mangaka is a woman – at least that’s what Amazon Japan’s saying.
Wow, she also self-inserts!
This is how anime is nowadays. You take yourself too seriously.
This is how anime has always been. People just project too much reality into what is obviously supposed to be fiction.
Yes because the Anime is hitting so hard on this Cliche that is is way funnyAlso do you really believe such an little Girl know all this Stuff? Did Internet corrupted her? Do not take this so serious.. or (i heard it in some commercial) Do not be an Cloud on an Sunny Day
Ehh, getting angry over trivial things like cartoons and fake characters, meh.
I have to agree. Mishas reactions are justified and the comedy suffers because of this. Tsubame is just megacreepy.
“leading to bland humour and repetitious situations with nothing really going for them. “Kinda like Nisekoi. That’s the sort of series that needed to end years before it actually did. It never really went anywhere for a long long time.
Heh it’s probably the only reason I never watched that series, at some point you want your romance to actually have an ending 😛
Manga has an ending =)
Was expecting to give this one episode then leave since I read the two translated chapters and neither the art nor humor did it for me. And now I want the second episode. Dogakobo pulled off some magic adapting it into an anime
They’re getting remarkably good at the comedy stuff of late. I’m not sure what it is specifically, but most adaptations the studio touches wind up being fantastic watches.

(Oi, oi…)Also, that “Kalinka” instrumental… (*faux Russian accent*) Blin, I’ve spent enough time on Slavic side of YouTube (mainly Life of Boris) to know what that song is.” Kalinka, kalinka, kalinka moya!… “
Only in anime does eye patches build character, in real life if someone with an eye patch wanted to be a maid I would be worried if she could still preform her duties.https://images.randomc.net/Uchi%20no%20Maid%20ga%20Uzasugiru/Uchi%20no%20Maid%20ga%20Uzasugiru%20-%2001%20-%20Large%2030.jpg
A possible reason why Tsubame wears an eye patch: To see better in the dark.Given that’s she’s a (former) fighter pilot in the JSDF, Tsubame must have had a few nighttime sorties (not that kind, ya pervs) under her belt. On the downside, wearing an eye patch screws with depth perception. On a different note, it’s a bit worrying that Misha would search stuff like “how to make a bomb” or “how to discreetly get rid of someone” online. (Are your sure she’s not a terrorist in the making?) Fortunately, Tsubame catches on quite quick and easily disarms Misha’s plots–with hilarious results.
I could believe that, but there was a scene at the start where her right eye lacked the eye patch while flying. Could be because she was piloting at the time, but I think there’s another reason behind it. We’ll likely find out soon enough though, I imagine it won’t take too long before Misha pulls the thing off 😛
I never thought the animation would be THIS good. That Misha running scene is pure sakuga.
Actually that scene reminded me of Animator Expo 6, “20min Walk from Nishi-Ogikubo Station”.

AOTS so far for me (and that’s including some of the heavy hitters). Wicked comedy delivered with faultless timing and top-quality animation, but with a genuine emotional core too. Plus the additional bonus of laughing at the squirming reviewers over on “everyone’s favourite anime news site”.My only nitpick (and ol’ Angelus is bound to have at least one) is that, despite lots of people calling their daughters Misha these days, it’s really a boy’s name as it’s the diminutive of the Russian name Mikhail (Michael).
Very confusing first episode. Like, I’m don’t think I’m supposed to have this much fun with this. Loli-chan is also very aware of the predator in her house. Still, looks like there’s lotsa room for actual character development so… huh. Turning off my brain for this one.
Is a decent adaption of the manga, they remove some fanservice there and here but well, is a miracle that a manga of Kanko get an anime that i can live with this.
Cringeworthy unfunny lolicon garbage. Dropped hard.
*sigh*… *unzips*
Just caught episode #2 (I know it’s not being followed by RC) andit’s basically a coming-of-age story for the girl. There’s funnyloli references, but nothing cringe-worthy, IMHO. There’s probablymore service in “Beelzebub-jou no Okinimesu mama.”, and that’s afun watch as well. Just my 2 …
Ep 04:- I think the anime should better care about of the “maid” sneaking to the bed of the Girl.. It feels wrong for me.. At last the bed is “holy ground” for this Girl.. Well, at last not in this case- These “Dreams or Imagination” sequences of them (both of Maid and the girl) should be better visualized as an dream.. As i said, this anime here do not take itself very seriously
– My English again..The sneaking of the Maid into her bed was feeling wrong for me, please avoid in the future of this kind of Actions. Because at last the Bed should be an “Holy Ground” for her and she should have her peace. In the worst scenario the bed is dirty now and she do not want to sleep in it anymore… Do not underestimate this, tooSo, better words
also.. How do the clean up of the Room anyway? Do her bed when she is away at school? and so on.. Also, i was afraid she would take the cloths of the Girl in the bathroom and begin to sniff around like some teleportation “Girl fanboy” in Index Railgun XDhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drVPJGBYVF4
