Nichijou – 18

「日常18」 (Nichijou 18)
"My Ordinary Life 18"

As much as I feel for Yukko and her horrible experience at Starbucks Daiku coffee, I was completely floored when her plans backfired on her. The moment I realized that she was trying to setup Mio; I had this feeling in the pit of my stomach that it was going to go completely awry.

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu Ni! – 04

「僕と本音と男の尊厳っ!」 (Boku to Honne to Otoko no Songen!)
"Me, Dignity, and a Man's Dignity!"

What time is it? It's time to return to what made this show one of the best comedies I've ever watched. A little bit of dark humor combined with some chocolate, laced with what I can only assume was alcohol, started off the funniest episode of the season. Who would have thought that a quick game of the Japanese version of BS could turn into a torture session for our male leads?

Natsume Yuujin-chou San – 05

「蔵にひそむもの」 (Kura ni Hisomu Mono)
"That Which Hides in the Storehouse"

As wonderful as they've been, things have been slanted very much towards the heartwarming side of the scale for Natsume Yuujinchou in this "San" season. Though they're adapting out of order, I figured Omori-sensei was overdue to jump into a chapter with a little more darkness and threat, and so he did.

Yuruyuri – 05

「あかりとかミンミンゼミとかなく頃に」 (Akari toka Minminzemi toka Naku Koro ni)
"When Akari and the Cicadas Cry"

Gotta love the episode title spoof on Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, but well before Akari was sucked dry by Chinatsu, we had plenty of yuri moments care of my favorite pairing -- Kyouko and Ayano. Total count of full-length screen captures this week: thirteen.

Ikoku Meiro no Croisée The Animation – 05

「迷子 Perdus」 (Maigo)
"Lost Child"

It's hard to imagine that anyone could get upset with Yune when she tries so hard to be helpful, and while Claude didn't really get mad at her, he did inadvertently make her feel like her Japanese sense of hospitality is a bad thing. She was like an innocent girl thrown into a labyrinth full of Parisian "wolves" and told to suspect everyone before trusting them.
