“Your Name is”
After having cameos in the last two episodes, our postwoman with no sense of direction finally makes her appearance.
Since ditching the mamba look, Kanako’s popularity amongst the guys at school has all but skyrocketed through the roof. While her attitude towards Junpei has improved, our misfortune-filled protagonist still has his eyes set on the Kaede prize. A week after the school festival, Junpei finds himself helping the local postwoman/university student, Mochizuki Chizuru (Satou Rina). Thus begins his eventful day, where he finds himself being teased by an older woman and helping random cats along the way. However, his real problems begin when he has to avoid being seen with Chizuru, whom his friends are bound to ask about. Needless to say, he fails to do so and is spotted by his sister Suzu, Kanako, and worst of all, Kaede.
The comedy was pretty good this episode, with Chizuru harassing Junpei and making fun of his drawing skills for much of the first half. Satou Rina really plays the “onee-san” character well, especially when Chizuru teases Junpei about kissing Kaede and such. Kanako on the other hand is also showing her true colors now that the misunderstanding with the friendship doll has been cleared up. She’s a lot more fun to watch now that she gets jealous about who Junpei’s with.
The highlight however had to be the flashback about how Junpei first met (and fell for) Kaede. Watching Kaede fall from a tree and perform a perfect dismount onto Junpei’s stomach was pretty funny in its own right, but watching Kaede slap the hell out of him was some hilarious stuff. I don’t think I’ve ever heard Iguchi Yuka flipping out like that and not sounding like Index, which is a big plus in my books.
Story-wise, they finally introduced Ichinose Nagi (Kobayashi Yuu), the senpai character who seems to have something for Kaede and everything against Junpei. The preview showed a whole flurry of things to come with Kanako scrapping it out with Nagi in a lot of scenes, so I’m looking forward to seeing that.
On a separate note, I’ve decided to continue blogging Nyan Koi alongside Kampfer on Thursdays. I originally wanted to cover the remaining half of NEEDLESS, but two shows a day is more than enough. I’d be a lot happier with one, but I didn’t want to leave Nyan Koi high and dry. Also, while I can’t guarantee it’ll be a regular thing, I’ve included captions for this week’s episode. Oh god… why… why are this seasons shows… oh god…. while this definitely can’t be Kimi no Todoke in it’s current status… I am loving all the loving that’s going around this fall… T_T… whether it’s me seeking happiness as I deal with the this horrible flu and the side effects it brings upon me… or cause I’m a senior who simply is enjoying any sort of comfort he can get as he applies to college and scribbles through a myriad of applications… I love this show… I love this season… I love you T_T… oh god… I LOVE IT… (this is mainly me venting my excessive love after just having marathoned both Nyan Koi and Kimi ni Todoke…. it’s mostly from Kimi ni Todoke)
I’m all for a Kanako and Junpei pairing, so her jealous rage moments are going to be fun. First caption: agree. Plus Kobayashi Y, suhweetness.

Gotta love how the anime added some stuff and even made it better than in the manga! In the manga, Junpei’s sister and Kanako didn’t find out about Chizuru, only Kaede learned about it, and even then when she asked about it to both Nagi and Kana, the two misunderstood and thought that she meant that she was hugged by Junpei. So in the end only Kaede knows about Chizuru.

Although I doubt it will happen I want Junpei to end up with ANYONE other than Kaede. I just don’t like the “friendly sweet clumsy little miss perfect” stereotypes, boring as hell imho.My pick would be Kanako or the twins. 🙂

yep, kaede still has my vote. kanako is a close second, as she seems to be the only one with a real chance out the rest of the cast (i’ve read the manga). hopefully the twins show up in the episode after this one

since sumiyoshi have a nice body, Junpei is stupid if he still prefer kaede than her ^_^.
