It took no more than 30 minutes for the readers of this blog to solve my precious quiz yesterday, so I’ve made a new one, which will hopefully take slightly longer to puzzle out. Either way, it’s clear to see that anime has a lot of very unique voices working in the business.
Again, I’ve chosen 10+1 clips, but this time I made an effort to pick different series, since there seems to be an interest in identifying the characters in addition to the actors. The next quiz will probably be posted some time next week, and if you happen to have sound clips of your own you think would fit in a quiz like this, feel free to mail them to me, 5-10 seconds in 128 kbps mp3 format. Include actor name, anime series, and character name, please.
Edit: No one managed to post all of the actors correctly in a single comment, but as a combined effort, you sure solved it fast. I was particularly surprised by people getting #11.

Hirano Aya definitely sounds right, now that you mention it. I’m not sure why I heard Satou Rina here. I also agree with Orikasa Fumiko, nice job. I’ve never heard Saito Chiwa much, though, so I couldn’t have come up with that answer.
#10 is fairly frustrating! I had vaguely thought of Kuwatani Natsuko and Shitaya Noriko at first, but I quickly forgot about them. I don’t think I’ll ever find a satisfying answer before the right answers are posted.

Looks like there’s a consensus on Sakurai Takahiro. He’s my favorite voice actor, and I’m terrible at recognizing voices without looking them up first (I’m just nerdy like that?), so I would have been really disappointed if I hadn’t gotten that one right. XD And Takehito Koyasu is the only one, I believe, that I could pluck from memory without even thinking about it. Anyway, um… I want to stick something out there and guess that the first one is Yukana. 😀

Haha, #8 and #5 were the only ones I knew for sure. Between the voice and his mentioning of Showers, without understanding everything he said I knew #8 was Fool. I also recognized #5 as Orihime’s voice, though I’m not sure if that clip is actually from bleach. I recognize 4, 6, 7, 9, and 11, but not well enough to know who they are or what they’re from for sure.
