Super Robot Wars OG: The Inspector – 06

(Ouka Genei)
"Cherry Blossom Phantom"

After five episodes of going into detail on various aspects of the Super Robot Wars universe, this sixth one marks the first episode where I feel there's been enough shown that following no real explanation is necessary to grasp what's going on. For those who are jumping into this series somewhat blindly, this means that the main protagonists and antagonists have been established and you should have enough to go on from simply watching.

DC (DC no Na no Shita ni)
"In the Name of DC"

Similar to how the game introduces new characters and robots every stage or so, the anime follows suit and adds a bunch of faces back into the mix every episode. Of those, names such as Ingram were alluded to by Viletta, whereas Aya's sister Mai is believed to be inside the core fragment salvaged from the Judecca mobile weapon, a.k.a. White Death Cross.

"The Burdened Cross"

The Hagane battleship captained by Daitetsu Minase (Shibata Hidekatsu) and vice-captained Tetsuya Onodera (Horikawa Jin) arrives on the scene, and with it the SRX team as well. The Choukijin that came and gone have become the focus of Bullet's investigation, while the subtle reintroduction of Kusuha Mizuha in his prized photograph sort of foreshadows what will come from them.

Super Robot Wars OG: The Inspector – 01

"Red Impact"

Having only really played through some of the Classic and Alpha SRW games, I had to do a fair bit of research into the Original Generations timeline to get a good grasp of what's going on in this adaptation. It served as a good refresher to fully appreciate the story, which new viewers diving into this sequel will likely be overwhelmed by to start.
