Rinne no Lagrange 2 – 03

(Kamogawa Ekusuperimento)
"The Kamogawa Experiment"

This episode featured some of the finest yuri trolling I've ever seen, but it wasn't that which had me staring wide-eyed at the screen when the episode came to a close. I feel like I just got hit by the plot bat...and I think I liked it.

Rinne no Lagrange 2 – 02

(Kamogawa Bousou Biichi)
"Mayhem on Kamogawa Beach"

Rinne no Lagrange constantly exceeds my expectations. No matter how much I enjoyed the previous episode and come in expecting the next one to be great, every episode exceeds what I thought it could be in a way I never imagined. I heard some major hype about this episode, and went in expecting the world. I got it, and more.

Rinne no Lagrange 2 – 01

! (Okaeri, Kamogawa!)
"Welcome Home, Kamogawa!"

Back with the second half of the tale, Rinne no Lagrange begins by evoking emotions that paint a dire picture of a galaxy at war. Not all is right in Madoka's world, and it's up to her to set things right...if only she could get Vox Aura to fly.

Rinne no Lagrange – OST

Rinne no Lagrange OST

Written by Suzuki Saeko in collaboration with music production duo TOMISIRO, the Rinne no Lagrange OST is easily one of my favourites from the Winter line-up. Neither of the two artists have worked on much that I'm familiar with - most of their work seems to be confined to the Keroro Gunsou franchise which - in my opinion - makes the quality of the LagRin OST even more impressive to behold. While not as diverse in genre as some anime soundtracks, there's still an impressive range of styles, though on the whole, the soundtrack comes across mostly as electronic interspaced with more comedic instrumental tracks.

Rinne no Lagrange – 12 (END)

「またいつの日か、鴨川で」 (Mata Itsu no Hi ka, Kamogawa de)
"Until We Meet Again, In Kamogawa"

A haunting episode full of partings. I'm finding myself unable to quite put into words my feelings about this final offering, which isn't an ideal situation for a writer to be in. Still, I'll give it a shot. The final episode of Rinne no Lagrange season one, and some thoughts about the series over all. Let's do this thing.

Rinne no Lagrange – 11

「鴨川絶対防衛ライン」 (Kamogawa Zettai Bōei Rain)
"Kamogawa's Last Line of Defense"

By the end of this episode, my eyes were wide open in amazement. Wow. Wow. Seriously, wow. Why aren't you watching this? And if you are, why aren't you watching this again?

Rinne no Lagrange – 10

「さらば鴨川」 (Saraba Kamogawa)
"Goodbye, Kamogawa"

There is reason to Asteria's rhyme after all. Rather than being frightened of what might happen if Madoka were to pilot, she is trying teach the Jersey Club leader a lesson: that she must confront her fear of losing someone close. Even in an episode dominated by meido Muginami and crying Lan, there's always something more working below the surface.

Rinne no Lagrange – 09

「勝浦発→鴨川行」 (Katsūra Hatsu → Kamogawa Kou)
"Departing Katsuura → Destination Kamogawa"

As has been said before, Rinne no Lagrange's strength is in effortlessly moving between the light-hearted and the serious. Just as soon as you think you're watching an entire episode of cross dressing maids, derailed duels and a clumsy Lan, suddenly you're hit with tragic pasts, inspiring family members and galactic intrigue.
